The Quotidian (Written January 2)

The Quotidian

The malady of the quotidian

Is to sink into oblivion.

The joy of the quotidian

Is to be what it is

And not purport to be

What it is not.

The quotidian is not for sale.

It cannot be bought.

It exists in the moment,

Or it does not exist at all.

It is every man, woman,

And child, in the particulars

Of their comings and their

Goings, their singularities.

It is how they live.
